Discipleship
The first step of discipleship is to know Christ and invite Jesus into our life. Followed by receiving Baptism and joining a body of Christ, called "The Church." Today the Christian churches are filled with members who have confessed their sin to Jesus, accepted Him as their Lord and savior, but never received baptism. The Great Commission was given to the Apostles, in Mathew 28: 19-20, by Jesus and there were two key concepts for the Discipleship process. The first one was to make disciples of all the nations and second was to baptize them in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. Thus, the primary indication of a born again believer is the steps seeking to receive baptism. In the new testament Church, three thousand were baptized in Jerusalem by Peter's preaching and added to the Church on the day of the Pentecost. Similarly, other people such as the Ethiopian finance offer, the household of Cornelious, Lydia the businesswomen, and the Jailer's household were all baptized immediately after hearing the word of God, through the Apostles. Saul, known as the Apostle Paul was Baptized after three days, due to Blindness and weakness. Thus, the Biblical account is clear that a new convert' Faith in Jesus is confirmed as he or she receives baptism. The Greek word for Baptism is "Baptizo" which means to "To dip into" or "To immerse into" indicating that Baptism by immersion is the most prevalent form in the first century and is the most accepted form in both the major Christian belivers community.
