THE CHURCH MISSION

The Church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of Jesus’ great commission. Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the church as a member of the body of believers. There is a spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 1:22, 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23; John 17:11, 20-23).

Ordinances of a Believers' Church

  1. Baptism in water by immersion is commanded by Jesus to "fulfill all the righteousness" Holy Scriptures and an outward expression of inward spirit. All who repent and believe in Christ as their personal Lord and Savior are to be baptized. This declares to the world that they have died with Christ and are raised with Him to walk in newness of life (Mathew 3: 15, Mathew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 10:47-48; Romans 6:4).

  2. The Holy Communion or the Lord’s Supper consists of the elements of bread and the fruit of the vine. It is a symbol of our sharing the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4) and a reminder of His suffering and death (1 Corinthians 11:26, and a prophecy of His Second coming (1Corinthians 12: 1-31).

Baptism in the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit, given at Pentecost, is the promise of the Father, sent by Jesus after His Ascension, to empower the Church to preach the Gospel throughout the whole earth. All believers are entitled to, should ardently expect and earnestly seek the baptism of the Holy Spirit. With it comes inducement of power for life and service (Mathew 3:11, Mark 1:7-8, Luke 3: 15-16, John 1: 32-34, Luke 24:49; John 20: 21-23, Acts 1:4-8, Acts 2:1-4, Acts 9:17-18, Acts 10: 44-46, Acts 16: 14-15, 1 Corinthians 12:1-31).

The Gifts of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is manifested through a variety of spiritual gifts to build and sanctify the church, demonstrate the validity of the resurrection, and confirm the power of the Gospel. The Bible lists of these gifts are not necessarily exhaustive, and the gifts may occur in various combinations. All believers are commanded to earnestly desire the manifestation of the gifts in their lives. These gifts always operate in harmony with the Scriptures and should never be used in violation of biblical parameters. (Hebrews 2:4; Romans 1:11,12 :4-8; Ephesians 4:16; II Timothy 1:5-16, 4:14; I Corinthians 12:1-31, 14:1-40; I Peter 4:10).

The Holy Sanctification

The spiritual unity of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and that all true believers are members of His body, the church. (1 Corinthians 12:12, 27; Ephesians 1:22-23). Sanctification is an act of separation from that which is evil and of dedication to God (Romans 12:1-2; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews 13:12). Scriptures teach a life of,” Holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.” (Hebrews 12:14). We believe that human life is sacred from conception to its natural end; and that we must have concern for the physical and spiritual needs of our fellowmen. (Psalm 139:13; Isaiah 49:1; Jeremiah 1:5; Matthew 22:37-39; Romans 12:20-21; Galatians 6:10).

God’s Will For Healing of the Sick and Provisions

The Father’s will for believers is to become whole, healthy, and successful in all areas of life. But because of the fall, many may not receive the full benefits of God’s will while on Earth. However, that should never prevent all believers from seeking the full benefits of Christ’s provision to better serve others. Spiritual (Psalm 103:2-3; John 3:3-11; II Corinthians 5:17-21; Romans 10:9-10) Mental and Emotional (II Timothy 1:7, 2:11; Philippians 4:7-8; Romans 12:2; Isaiah 26:3, I Corinthians 12:9, 28). Physical (Isaiah 53:4,5; Matthew 8:16-17; Mark 16:17-18, Acts 8:6-7; James 5:14-16 I Peter 2:24). Financial (Joshua 1:8; Malachi 3:10-11; Luke 6:38; II Corinthians 9:6-10; Deuteronomy 28:1-14; Psalm 34:10, 84:11; Philippians 4:19, Romans 11:29).

Marriage

God’s plan for human sexuality is to be expressed only within the context of marriage, created by God with man and woman as unique biological persons as a companion and to complete each other. God instituted monogamous marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. For this reason, we believe that marriage is exclusively the union of one genetic male and one genetic female. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5-6; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9).

Tithing and Giving

Tithing is the paying off a portion of our income, or one-tenth of our increase into the treasury of the Church according to the scriptures. It began with old testament through Abraham, continued under the law, and received Christ’s approval in the new testament. The intentional Giving differs from and is in addition to tithing. Both are part of God’s plan to finance His work on earth. (Genesis 14:18-20; 28:20-22; Malachi 3:10; Matthew 23:23; Luke 1 1:42; 1 Corinthians 16:2; 2 Corinthians 9:6-9; Hebrews 7:1-21).
